Description

Amazing, almost unique, Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT Master with completely original/untouched 'Tritium' Mark 1 dial and hands. The watch, also amazingly, retains its original rivited 'Oyster' bracelet. 50 years old this year and comes to us direct from the original owner.

Case

Stainless steel case is in excellent condition and has not been overly polished (as many have). We understand that the watch case (and bracelet) has only ever been polished once, during Rolex service in 1986. Both bezel and blue/red 'Pepsi' bezel are original, the insert being a replacement fitted during that 1986 Rolex service. Serial number: 2206xxx. Case ref: 1675.

Case dimensions are 40mm (not including crown - 43mm including), 12.5mm thick and 47.5mm lug to lug.

Dial & Crystal

Simply stunning and completely original, Mark 1 'Long E' dial with date window at 3 o'clock - retains original date disc with open 6's and 9's. Dial is signed "Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, GMT Master, Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" with "Swiss -T <25" at 6 o'clock denoting a 'Tritium' dial. The lume on the dial and hands match perfectly and is starting to patina/yellow just a touch with the lume on some of the hour markers, beginning to flake a little with age. The dial has a lovely uniform finish with no scratches, marks or edge chips.

Crystal has some signs of wear/use with a couple of grazes/scratches but nothing glaringly obvious. If the new owner wished, we could certainly have a brand new crystal fitted (at our cost). Please excuse camera shadow/reflections in some of the images.

Bracelet/Strap

Excellent condition, original rivited Oyster bracelet is sublime. As you may be aware, the majority of 1675 GMT Master's came with either the folded-link type Oyster or a Jubilee bracelet, so finding an original 'Extensible' (stretchy) bracelet like this is almost unheard of nowadays. Bracelet will currently fit approx. 8.0" wrist or can be adjusted (full retail length).

Movement

Model 1675 calibre 1570 automatic Chronometer movement in excellent condition and keeping excellent time. Comes with full 12 months warranty for your complete peace of mind.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories

The very careful previous owner has managed to retain the original box, original warranty certificate/booklet along with the original purchase receipt, Rolex service invoice from 1986 and another service receipt from 2010 (done by ourselves that time). The watch is 100% genuine and rest assured, we give a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity of all the watches we sell.

It should go without saying that it is a very rare event to find a watch so complete and in such amazing and original condition. I can't recall in almost 20 years, seeing a Rolex Sports model with this much originallity and provenance.
