Description

Equisite solid silver minute repeating pocket watch, housed in a 'full hunter' type case with beautifully detailed engine turned design on both front & rear covers. Original dial, original hands, everything.

Case

Solid silver case really is in outstanding condition and has clearly been a treasured item throughout its life. Both front and rear covers snap shut nice and tightly with a push button release for the front cover on the end of the winding stem. Case has hallmarks for .800 silver (also known as Continental silver) along with an inner cuvette engraving denoting a connection to the Milan International Fair of 1906. Perhaps an identical model to that shown at the fair or given as an award of some kind at the actual event?

Case dimensions are a good size at 54mm in diameter (not including stem/bow), 15mm thick and 76mm from bottom hinge to top of bow.

Dial & Crystal

Completely original, white enamel sub-seconds dial is signed "Fix Watch" and then double signed by the original retailer "El. Trust Madrid". The dial features black enamel numbers with minute markers around the outer edge and retains its original blued steel hands. Dial has a few hairlines which can be seen in the images but they're not glaringly obvious at all.

Acrylic crystal appears virtually as new with no scratches or noticeable imperfections.

Movement

Plain but elegant, unsigned, three finger bridge movement (most likely Swiss made) in perfect working order and keeping good time. This is a lever-set movement which requires the sliding lever at 4 o'clock to be moved right in order to set the time. Minute repetition striking is achieved by two hammers on gongs - really nice, crisp sound (and accurately so). Activated by pusher at 7 o'clock on the outside of the case.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories

As with the majority of pocket-watches, this particular watch does not come with its original boxes or any kind of certificate or paperwork. It will however come in a small pocket-watch pouch made of velvet. The watch is 100% genuine and rest assured we give a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity of all the watches we sell.
