Description

Omega Speedmaster 'First Omega in Space' Edition in mint condition. Acquired from the original purchaser who wore it only a couple/three times before putting it away. Case is virtually perfect as are the box and accessories. Lovely watch with the older/retro style case (CK2998).

Case

Stainless steel case is in virtually unmarked condition with only one or two very slight handling marks - very difficult to distinguish from a brand new watch. Familiar black Tachymetre bezel is pristine with no scratches or marks of any kind. This particular version of the Speedmaster was inspired from the watch worn by astronaut Wally Shirra in 1962 as he orbited the earth during the "Sigma 7" mission - some 7 years before the moon landings and the Speedmaster 'Moonwatch' made famous by the association with NASA.

Case dimensions are 39.7mm (not including crown), 14mm thick and 47mm lug to lug.

Dial & Crystal

Lovely, classic black dial with Chronograph registers at 3, 6 & 9 o'clock. Stainless steel 'Alpha' hands with white centre seconds and sub dial hands. Dial is signed simply "Omega Speedmaster" with 'Swiss Made" at 6 o'clock.

Crystal is perfect and unmarked - this is a sapphire crystal as opposed to the more regular 'Moonwatch' which has a Hesalite (a type of acrylic).

Bracelet/Strap

Watch comes complete with the original mid-brown leather strap with contrasting white stitching. This is a lightly used strap but only just so and is perfectly serviceable as can be seen in the images.

Movement

Model reference number: 311.32.40.30.01.001 with calibre 1861 manual winding movement in perfect condition and keeping excellent time. Comes with our usual 12 months warranty for your total peace of mind.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories

Comes complete with both boxes, instruction manual, hangtag, special edition card wallet & fully authorised warranty card (from UK source) dated 29/05/2014. The watch is 100% genuine and we give a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity of all the watches we sell.
