#51986 - Rolex Oyster Perpetual With White Dial & Dark Brown Leather Strap Year: 1952 Price: SOLD (12/11/14) Shipping (Within UK): FREE Shipping (Worldwide): £12 Description Gentleman's Rolex Oyster Perpetual in 18ct pink gold and stainless steel with lovely white 3, 6, 9 dial and dark brown leather strap. A really nice example of this very rare 'ovettone' (A.K.A. Big or Large Bubbleback). Case Stainless steel case is in excellent condition. 18ct pink gold 'Index' bezel is also excellent with only slight definition loss. Rear cover is in mint condition with no imperfections or damage. Original gold, 'Super Oyster' winding crown (non-screw down). Quite rare to find these with their original Super Oyster crown intact; has usually been replaced with a standard 'Twinlock'. Model reference: 6805 between lugs at 12 o'clock along with serial number: 899xxx between lugs at 6 o'clock. Rear cover is stamped inside with matching reference number. Case dimensions are 34mm in diameter (not including crown), 12.5mm thick and 40mm lug to lug. Dial & Crystal Lovely, crisp re-finished white dial is a real stunner and has pink gold sunken 'dagger' and 3, 6, 9, 12 markers with matching (original) 'alpha' hands and Rolex coronet at 12 o'clock. Dial is signed 'Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, Officially Certified Chronometer' with 'Swiss' at 6 o'clock. Acrylic crystal has recently been replaced during service and is perfect with no marks or scratches. Bracelet/Strap We have fitted a brand new, high quality crocodile leather strap with complementing Rolex stainless steel buckle. We are also Hirsch stockists and can change the strap to any from their 'Classic' machine made range, or 'artisanal' range of superb hand-made straps if you desire (subject to cost).
