Description

Stunning gentleman's Rolex 'Double-Red' Sea-Dweller with original (virtually flawless) matte black dial, original hands, bezel, bezel insert, etc. Purchased from the original owner, this UK sourced watch is offered with its original boxes, warranty certificate and supporting service paperwork from 1981 and 2010.

Case

Stainless steel case is in beautiful condition having recently been fully serviced & pressure tested by Rolex UK. The watch has not been worn at all since its return from Bexley. Case has familiar 'Triplock' winding crown and original, flawless case-back is engraved with 'Rolex Patent - Gas Escape Valve - Oyster' and has the case serial number repeated on the inside. Original bi-directional rotating diving bezel is in good used condition and retains the original (now faded) black bezel insert. The luminescent 'pearl' at 12 o'clock on the bezel has been replaced with a luminova one at recent service. Model no: 1665. Case serial no: 377xxxx.

Case dimensions are 44mm in diameter, 15mm thick and 53mm lug to lug.

Dial & Crystal

Beautiful and original MK.III matte black dial is in virtually flawless condition with heavy white dot and baton tritium hour markers along with white dashed minute markers around the outer edge. Original mercedes tritium hands are also retained as is the original date wheel. Dial is signed 'Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date' with 'Sea-Dweller Submariner 2000' (in red) followed by '2000ft=610m, Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified' along with 'Swiss -T <25' at 6 o'clock.

Domed acrylic crystal is brand new, having been replaced by Rolex at it's most recent service.

Bracelet/Strap

The bracelet was replaced during it's 2010 service and is brand new. Oyster, 'Fliplock' bracelet ref: 93150 with 585 end pieces.

Movement

Automatic winding, nickle plated, 26 jewel 1575 calibre movement - again, all original and in superb working condition. Watch is still keeping Chronometer time. Under Rolex International warranty until end of March 2010 but also covered by our 12 months warranty from date of purchase.

Supporting Paperwork

The watch comes with its original warranty certificate, original purchase receipt, Certificate Of Insurance (from date of original purchase), service paperwork from 1981 along with matching receipt, translation sheet and service certificate from 29/3/2010. The punched serial number on the original warranty certificate does not match the serial number of the watch - the name, address, date, etc. do match perfectly and this was simply a case of mis-matching paperwork by the original retailer back in 1975.
